The private paternity tests are conducted identically as legal paternity tests in our accredited laboratory, ensuring accurate results and standards. If you choose a Private Knowledge Paternity Test, discreet collection kits containing buccal (mouth) swabs will be delivered to your address for simple, painless sample collection. The samples are collected by rubbing the provided swabs inside the mouth along the cheek and then sent back to the laboratory for analysis. Results will be available 1 to 3 business days from the date the samples are received at the laboratory.

If the individuals to be tested live in different cities, or even different countries, we can split the kit and send each component to a different address. Since the kits are individually barcoded, the samples will still be tested together even if the are sent back separately. To order a split kit, please write the following into the comments box of the online order form “Please split kit”. Please also indicate the name and address to send each component. For example, please state “send the Alleged Father’s portion to… (specify the alleged father’s name and address)” and “send the Child’s portion to… (specify the Child’s name and address).

The Legal Paternity Test is for individuals who need to receive legally admissible documents for use in court. Our legal paternity test results reports are legal documents which are admissible in courts throughout North America as conclusive evidence of paternity or non-paternity. Legal paternity testing requires a chain-of-custody procedure to be followed during sample collection by an unbiased third party collector/collection site. If you choose the legal test, you cannot collect the samples yourself. You will need to attend an appointment for chain-of-custody sample collection. This ensures proper witnessing, verification of identification and fingerprinting of the individuals involved in the test. Results will be available 1 to 3 business days from the date the samples are received at the laboratory.

If you wish to know the truth about paternity discreetly before deciding on the next step, then the private paternity test would be your best option because it is economical, discreet and 100% accurate. The private test is just as accurate as the legal test. The only difference is whether the collection is performed in private or whether the collection is witnessed. The actual testing and accuracy of testing is the same between the private and legal paternity tests.
